Lukáš Tůma is a data analyst based in Prague, Czech Republic, working primarily with environmental data to better understand landscapes and rural systems. His professional aim lies in the climate resilience of agriculture and the sustainable coexistence of nature and farming practices.
He works with climate model outputs, remote sensing data, and crop growth models, applying them to agroclimatic analysis across a range of regions—from Europe to Africa and Asia—including countries such as Zambia, Moldova, Ethiopia, Cambodia, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
His long-term interest in the countryside is quite personal. It is driven not only by fieldwork and travel, but also by time spent at a family summer house surrounded by protected natural land, where the Havranka nature park was established. These experiences—constant contact with rural life, landscapes, and ecosystems—gradually expanded beyond data and analysis.
Along the way, drawing and sketching emerged as a natural extension of observation. What began as a way to capture places and moments soon merged with a fascination for concept art from video games and the skills of old masters. At some point, a simple thought arose: why not sketch grotesque characters and strange landscapes the way they did?
His visual inspirations range from Renaissance and classical artists to contemporary illustrators and concept artists. He began drawing in his early twenties and continues to explore the craft to this day—mostly with pencil, but also digitally using mobile and desktop painting tools, as well as traditional media such as pastel, watercolor, and acrylic. He is also devoted to sculpting with Monster Clay.
From time to time, he writes short stories and tales, often inspired by themes of climate, nature, and people trying to live within changing systems. In both writing and drawing, he is drawn to worlds shaped by irony, imagination, and layered meaning—where science, the occult, and absurdity coexist.
Above all, Lukas enjoys learning new things, experimenting across disciplines, and exploring ideas that feel both artistic and, in some way, useful.
